Glaston Managing Director recognised as a Man of Distinction when it comes to Compressed Air Management

Managing Director of Glaston, Michael Douglas has kicked off 2021 in style, achieving a Pass with Distinction in the Diploma in Compressed Air Management (DipCAM).

BCAS Diploma in Compressed Air Management

Michael was awarded this accolade after completing the British Compressed Air Society (BCAS) qualification in Compressed Air Management. The course aims to provide a comprehensive technical understanding of the operation of compressed air systems. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Michael was able to apply his ample knowledge and expertise of compressed air systems to excel.

What did the course cover?

Michael was excited to get his teeth into something new over the last 12-months, and this course from the BCAS was the perfect place to start. This comprehensive course covered absolutely everything there is to know about compressed air management, starting with an overview of compressed air systems before moving on to cover components in further detail.

Here, he covered a complete insight into pressure regulation and control within compressed air systems and how to store compressed air safely. This covers the theory of compressed air storage and auxiliary storage. The course also covered energy-efficient compressed air control. This is something we pride ourselves on at Glaston through the design and manufacture of energy-efficient compressed air solutions that help you to keep your costs low.

The course also delivered an in-depth analysis of pneumatic control systems and how they work with an understanding of the safety solutions surrounding pneumatic control systems. Another important component was the overview of proper air treatment commissioning and maintenance. This is another area that we excel at here at Glaston, as we value air compressor maintenance as a way to ensure you avoid costly air compressor breakdowns and repairs. This course delved deep into the topic of maintenance to help us keep your air compressor up and running.

Ensuring on-site safety for our team, and yours is so important to Glaston. This is why Michael was thrilled to be able to learn even more about safe working practices and the legislation surrounding the safe installation of air compressors in the UK. The course enabled him to build on his knowledge and expertise gained by being Safe Contractor Approved.
