We interview Paul Bretherton, Glaston’s latest recruit!
Q. Paul, congratulations on your new role, can you tell us a bit more about the position?
A. I recently joined Glaston in a Sales and Technical Support capacity as I will be providing support to the Engineering department as well as getting actively involved in Sales across compressed air, nitrogen generation and other services.
Q. What previous experience have you had?
A. I have been working as an engineer for 24 years, so I have a broad range of experience. I started as a bench fitter and worked my way up to maintenance engineer at Liquid Plastics which covered a range of skills, including petro-chemical reactors and a mortar manufacturing site. I then moved to Air Power Ltd in Preston where I began to work with Compair Compressors. I worked on all brands of compressors and experienced all industries. I have worked on many projects and recently completed a large installation in the rail industry including a full spray shop for the overhaul of passenger trains. In 2010 I moved into sales, selling Atlas Copco compressors and moved to selling HPC compressors in 2013. I have a good ability for seeing an energy saving opportunity on compressed air systems and have saved many large companies thousands of pounds.
Q. Paul are you looking forward to joining the Glaston team?
A. I have wanted to work for Glaston for a few years and now I have finally got the opportunity. This has been one of my personal goals so I am really looking forward to becoming part of the team. Everyone is so friendly and all the team seem to share a passion for Glaston which is fantastic to be a part of.
Q. Paul what do you do in your spare time?
A. I have a love for cars and am a petrol head at heart. I have owned many cars over the years and I have a passion for stripping engines down and rebuilding them. I am currently restoring an early British racing green Mk1 MGF. I bought the car as a non-runner 18 months ago and I have already rebuilt the engine. In the past I have restored many makes of cars from classic minis to TVRs. I also enjoy playing my Fender Stratocaster and listening to Classic Rock music, favourite musicians include Pink Floyd, Clapton and Hendrix. My family is the biggest part of my life, I have two small children so I really enjoy spending as much time as possible with them both.
