Andrew Gore, Site Reliability Engineer at Baker Hughes contacted Glaston as they were considering a modernisation project to replace the old air compressors at the Knowsley production site. John Noon, General Manager at Glaston has been working with Baker Hughes for over 25 years and had the knowledge and expertise to advise on the replacement of the existing compressors and the installation of the new machines. John Noon comments “Glaston is the existing supplier to Baker Hughes for their compressed air needs. We supplied and installed the three original HPC compressors over a period of 25 years with the first HPC compressor being installed back in 1990. After undertaking a study of the existing compressor system we proposed a modernisation project to supply and install a new, more energy efficient solution to Baker Hughes using the very latest and more energy efficient HPC compressors. Glaston supplied and installed a new HPC KAESER BSD83 45kW compressor with 2 HPC KAESER ASD50 25kW units, together with a HPC SAM4/4 compressor controller.”
