Glaston Compressor Services was approached by Mint North West Ltd, home adaption specialists, to review their existing compressed air usage and offer a more efficient solution. Mint North West is a market leader in the home adaption market, helping to pave the way for development and innovation.
The Challenge
Glaston was asked to provide an efficient compressed solution, but to consider other needs of the business too. Mint North West Ltd provides shower and wet room adaptations, using ramps and various custom-built home extensions. Their focus is on technical excellence, so it is key for the business that their compressed air usage should be managed and maintained in a way that offers the best possible productivity levels.
The Solution
Glaston was pleased to work with Mint North West and help the business find a more efficient solution to their compressed air delivery. We recommended the KAESER HPC SX8RM compressor with built in filter and receiver. The total costs incurred throughout the equipment’s service life has a direct reflection on the efficiency of the machine. Compressor users expect to have maximum availability and efficiency of their compressed air and the KAESER SX series rotary screw compressors go far beyond meeting these expectations. Not only do they deliver more compressed air for less power consumption, but they also combine ease of use and maintenance with exceptional versatility.
This system was forecast to be a good fit for Mint North West thanks to its efficient operation and low running cost. The new HPC SX screw air compressors are up to 12% more efficient than their predecessors. Based on an electricity cost of 0.10 £/kWh this translates into energy-related savings of approximately £1,500 (for an SX 4-3 kW motor) over ten years, assuming 1,500 hours of operation annually.
The HPC SX air compressor models all share logical and user-friendly design throughout. For example, the left-hand enclosure panel can be removed in a few simple steps and allows excellent visibility of the system’s intelligently laid out components. Needless to say, the new SX series was designed to ensure the best possible access to all service points.
The Result
Glenn Minto, Managing Director at Mint North West Ltd was thrilled with the results of this new compressed air cooling system. Not only is the result more energy and cost efficient, the system combines optimum sound damping with enhanced cooling. This means that normal conversation can take place right next to the running compressor with no problems.
When closed, the sound-absorbing enclosure keeps operational sound levels to a minimum, which helps to maintain a comfortable and pleasant working environment. Adding to the suitability of these compressed air systems, the HPC SX series of compressors are impressively compact. This makes them the perfect choice for applications where space is at a premium.
Glenn told us that the business takes pride in working with the best suppliers in the industry to establish a strong supply chain. As a company, Mint North West invests strongly in the latest technology to secure their position as a leader in precision component manufacture.
“Glaston delivered a first-class service,” Glenn says. “Their knowledge and expertise will save us money in the long run. So, we look forward to our compressor providing a long and efficient life.”
