Why Glaston specialises in energy-efficient compressed air systems

Following a carbon report carried out by The Making Carbon Work (MaCaW) Project, Glaston Compressor Services was recognised as a carbon-neutral company. In this article, Glaston discusses the benefits our customers can receive from choosing energy-efficient compressors from a carbon-neutral air compressor supplier.

What is a carbon-neutral company?

Carbon neutral is a term used to describe an entity such as a company, service, or a product where carbon emissions produced are balanced out by funding an equivalent amount of carbon savings elsewhere. A carbon-neutral company is a business that understands the importance of implementing appropriate action for dealing with climate control, something which can be critical to their long-term success and reputation.

From a business perspective, if you put CO2 into the atmosphere, you’ll have to balance these emissions out by removing the exact amount of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere that you’ve put into it. Investing in environmentally-friendly initiatives, also known as carbon offsetting, is an easy and effective way to achieve this.

What is The Making Carbon Work (MaCaW) project?

The Making Carbon Work (MaCaW) Project is an industry and academic collaboration that is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), managed by the University of Central Lancashire and supported by Lancashire business growth hub, Boost.

It was designed to assist Lancashire-based SMEs, such as Glaston Compressor Services, to overcome the challenges and barriers in moving towards a local carbon economic model. This is achieved by engaging Lancashire SMEs to implement low-energy practices to reduce their carbon burden and educating them on the savings which can be gained by doing so.

What makes Glaston a carbon-neutral air compressor supplier?

Recently, Glaston had a carbon report carried out by representatives from The Making Carbon Work project to help us identify opportunities, which as a business, we can implement to improve our energy performance, as well as reducing energy wastage and identify potential areas where low carbon technology can be installed to reduce CO2 emissions.

However, after analysis of our business as carried out by the MaCaW project, it was discovered that as the annual electricity at Glaston is produced by solar panels installed during 2015, this offsets the costs of other power sources, thus making Glaston a carbon-neutral company.

Choose energy-efficient air compressors from Glaston Compressor Services

With the increased emphasis both in the UK and globally on climate change and reducing our carbon footprint, Glaston more than ever is keen to do our bit and help provide customers with not just energy-efficient compressors, but to encourage a reduction of compressed air energy consumption as a whole.

This is achieved through promoting environmentally friendly and budget-saving alternatives for producing cleaner compressed air, optimising how businesses generate compressed air and advocating regular air compressor maintenance and servicing to ensure compressors retain reliability.

By creating bespoke compressed air solutions that are built around energy-efficiency, we can ensure our customers benefit from significantly reduced energy costs that positively impact both the environment and their profitability.
