Glaston has recently made a significant investment into solar panels which have been installed on the roof of their premises in Skelmersdale. The £35k investment will help to reduce their reliance on grid-fed power, reduce their exposure to future energy cost rises and improve their green credentials and CO2 output.
As a business we are always looking at sustainable ways to be more efficient and reduce our energy costs. On a clear winters day we get a maximum 11kw of power and in the summer this will increase to 30kw. We will be a nett exporter of electricity from now on and this makes us as efficient as possible. We hope to pass these efficiencies and savings onto our customers, it’s not just about the compressors we supply and the systems we design but the whole philosophy of the company.”
Glaston’s aim is to be as environmentally friendly as possible. The new Solar panels will generate clean renewable energy for the business to use for free on site with a 7 year payback.
